I have three blogs previously, tonight spent sometime “combining” them into one. Well, not exactly combined; I actually re-created the old blogs in the new one.
When doing this, it reminds me how time has past and how things have changed. My MSN “friend” no longer remember who I am, I have bought a DSLS although I thought I won’t have bought it so soon, I still have’t get my Eighth Wonder Fearless CD yet, etc… so amusing.
It’s kind of fun.
The moon is so “big” tonight. Taken a few moon shoots with my cheapo 300mm, 100% crop:
I’ve been thinking that by having a digital camera, it allows me to learn photography faster than ever. I was wrong. I was basically shooting blindly. I kept thinking that Photoshop can do wonder, and therefore I didn’t really doing photography; I was just taking pictures without thinking. I have been thinking in front of my PC, with Photoshop.
I was naive.
Just read a book on understanding exposure. It wakes me up. I suddenly aware that that photography is about exposure, not photo editing. Photo editing is just another art form. I love phototgraphy and also enjoying photo editing. But it’s time “treat” them separately.
I’ll be going for a photo shoot session tomorrow on flashlight photogtaphy, another area that caught my attention lately. I have a good set of photographic gear, not top of the line stuff, but enough to get things done effectively and creatively; but I’ve not fully utilize it capabilities yet.
I’m merely a junior apprentice in photography. Still have a long way to go, before I can call myself a photographer. I hope I’m not too late…
After my little 3-room flat renovated last year, I have been looking for a world map to hang on the wall in my living room. However official world map does not really look good, too “classroom” look.
Last week, finally saw two antique world map jigsaw puzzles. After much consideration, I decided to get one; quite expensive actually, plus frame nearly $100. After spending nearly 18 hours in the past 4 days, I finally put all the 1000 pieces together.
Read a book called 100 Ways to Take Better Lanscape Photographs, and I realize that how lack of knowledge I am in the photographers world. I have so much more to learn to be a good photographer. I’m glad that I picked up this book from the library today; I cannot depend on Photoshop all the time.
The meat is photography, Photoshop is just the ingredient.
Our continual mistake is that we do not concentrate upon the present day, the actual hour, of our life: we live in the past or in the future; we are continually expecting the coming of some special moment when our life will unfold itself in its full significance. And we do not notice that the life is flowing like water thru our fingers. ~ Father Alexander Elchaninov
